Head coach Kelvin Sampson has the Cougars 9-0 and off to their best start since 1970. Thursday saw the Cougars overcome a 15-point deficit against LSU led by Galen Robinson Jr.’s 18 points and six assists. Robinson picked up the slack for Corey Davis Jr. who struggled to get in a groove as he battled foul trouble. Houston scored 20 points off LSU’s 16 turnovers and held the Tigers scoreless from the field for a 10-minute stretch in the second half. LSU also shot 5-of-26 from 3-point range in the game.

Houston faces a solid Saint Louis team (7-2) Sunday inside the Fertitta Center as it tries to push the nation’s longest home win streak to 23 games.
