One thing wasn’t a surprise on Selection Monday and that was Baylor nabbing the NCAA Tournament’s No. 1 overall seed in the Greensboro Region against No. 16 Abilene Christian Saturday in Waco, Texas. Baylor’s road to the Final Four will surely include an eventual clash with No. 2 Iowa and the NCAA Women’s Player of the Year, Megan Gustafson.
No. 7 Texas drew No. 10 Indiana in the Portland Region and will face the Lady Hoosiers in Eugene, Oregon.
After dominating Conference USA with an unbeaten 16-0 record, regular season and tournament champion Rice earned a No. 12 seed and drew No. 5 Marquette and a chance to meet up with No. 4 seed Texas A&M in a potential rematch of the regular season clash the two teams.
A&M won the first matchup, 65-54, in College Station. The Aggies play No. 13 Wright State in College Station.
