Although TCU probably anticipated playing in the NCAA Tournament at the start of the season, Raegan Pebley’s team isn’t done. The Lady Horned Frogs will host the SWAC Conference runner-up Prairie View A&M Panthers inside the Ed & Rae Schollmaier Arena in the first round of the WNIT. TCU made it to the semifinals of the same tournament last season.

The winner of that intrastate showdown will await yet another Texas team in the next round between the winner of UT Arlington and Stephen F. Austin. The Lady Mavs are the regular season Sun Belt Championships and head coach Krista Gerlich was named the conference’s Coach of the Year. The Ladyjacks will participate in their sixth WNIT after finishing

Rounding out the WNIT are Houston who travel to Fayetteville to take on Arkansas. The Cougars earned their highest finish in the AAC this past season (Fourth) since joining the conference.

UTRGV is competing in its fourth consecutive post-season tournament and is back in the WBI having made the tournament a year ago and in 2015. The WAC Tournament runner-ups will play North Texas who are in a post-season tournament in back-to-back seasons for the first time since 2000-01 and 2001-02.
