The NCAA announced its COVID health and safety protocols for the 2020-21 men’s basketball tournament. The event is set to take place entirely in Indianapolis and nearby areas and colleges during March and April.
The biggest announcement involves testing.
Tournament participants, including "Tier 1" traveling party members (players, coaches, trainers, staff and officials) with the team, will be required to have seven consecutive negative COVID-19 tests before arriving in Indianapolis. In addition to this, there will be daily testing in the March Madness bubble as well for Tier 1 members. Local health providers in the city to help administer the daily tests.
The tournament will be held April 3 and 5.
The surrounding areas that will host tournament games include Ball State, Butler, Indiana and Purdue. Marriott will house most of the tournament teams due to its partnership with the NCAA.
