The Lone Star Conference men’s and women’s semifinals took place inside the Comerica Center on Saturday. The championship games will begin at 1 p.m. Sunday with the men’s game followed by the women’s game at 3:30 p.m.
Friday was the women’s turn to showcase their talent at the Comerica Center during the Lone Star Conference quarterfinals. This year, the women’s bracket is wide open, with the top seven teams in the conference finishing within two games of each other in the regular season standings.
The tournament began Tuesday, with two of the four games ending in an upset. That trend continued Thursday, with the top seed surviving on a buzzer-beater while two other top seeds lost.
The first season of the expanded Lone Star Conference provided one of the best conference tournaments in recent memory. West Texas A&M overcame a 13-point halftime deficit to defeat St. Edward’s and earn the Buffs their third consecutive Lone Star Conference Tournament title.
