Growing up playing select soccer until her freshman year, McCoy had the technical skill to make it as a varsity kicker. She just wanted the opportunity and had relayed interest since middle school.
It wasn’t until Donovan Thompson’s layup from a full-court pass in the waning seconds that put Clarendon up four that the Broncos could finally breathe. They’d secured the program’s first 2A state title, 64-60.
Thursday morning, Maggie Peacock found herself at the podium answering questions through tears, but this time with Lipan’s (30-3) second state championship after a 44-39 win over Martin’s Mill (28-5) in the 2A finals.
On Saturday, Dave Campbell’s Texas Basketball went down to the San Antonio for the UIL Basketball State Championships. Over the course of six games, we saw a lot of great performances from a lot of great players.
